The financial benefits of niche marketing can be quite significant. It is usually worth narrowing down the focus of your marketing efforts, in order to get more targeted traffic that is ready to buy.

However, too many marketers just starting out neglect niche marketing in favor of going for large, broad markets. This is a mistake, because larger markets are harder to break into, due to a lot of competition and potential customers who aren't ready to buy yet.

Beginners to marketing often think that reducing their focus to a small selection of people who might be interested in a specific product or service, will diminish the amount of money they can make. However, this is not the case.

Niche marketing is actually proven to increase profits by focusing on people who know exactly what they want and are ready to buy it. These people have usually gone through much of the preliminary research they need to make a purchasing decision. With the right marketing techniques, you can reach them right at the moment they have decided to buy.

Niche Promotion via Article Marketing

EzineArticles and GoArticles are two of the most popular article repositories online, and you should definitely make use of them. Google especially loves EzineArticles, so your writings have a good chance of showing up on the first page of results for your keywords, if you have chosen them wisely.

When writing an article, you must first choose what keywords you will be targeting. These are the words that people are the most likely to search for, when looking for information on your product or service online. Use the keywords once in the article's title, once in the first paragraph, once in the last paragraph, and three to four times throughout the body of the article. Try to keep the article length somewhere in the 300 to 500 words range and break it up into short paragraphs. Use bulleted lists where appropriate.

You must also keep your articles informative rather than promotional. No article directory will accept blatantly promotional material, since that would make the website look spammy and low quality in the eyes of the search engines.

At the end of the article, you can include a brief couple of sentences about you and your product or service. This section is known as a resource box and can include a link to your website where readers can learn more.

Each of the article directories has a different set of rules about what is acceptable for authors to include in their articles and accompanying resource boxes. Make sure you study and then apply these rules before you attempt to submit an article. Failure to do so could result in your article being rejected for publication. For example, you may read the editorial guidelines and author terms of service for EzineArticles here and here.

Once you have managed to publish some articles to the article directories on well chosen keywords, then you will almost certainly start to make money in niche marketing.
